A filmakers challenge. Not a contest. A challenge.
In 24 hours we must make a movie. A short movie - maximum 5 minutes.
My brothers & sister are en route from Toronto. We are a team. And all of the team. We will have some day players that have been arranged, we will probably have some day players that have not been arranged: the Talent. I have put the feelers out to more then have signed on. I have extended to many who will not perhaps not end up able to be used.
I have secured a good wealth of varied film locations, public & private.
They have arrived in Hamilton and are making their way here...
It is begun.

...the five hour weekend is the new two day one...
Here is total blog...an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog, Web log. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author (dictionary.com).
Friday night. a 5 or more (if I am lucky) hour awake window, of complete off-the-clock-mode. When the on-the-clock-mode has been almost dizzying, almost but not. Fortunately, I am very organized in my business affairs...though as of yet, not particularly my personal ones (ie. Thomas went to school twice with no 'snack' (not really negligent since he had had a very late and fulfilling break fast both days, but negligent enough to warrant a note home in the school bag & probably T being outsider-esque in his school sphere...no, I am not Totally on it...) but, particular enough to have booked the imunization apt. for him next week...).
For now, pager is not buzzing, apt's have ceased & responsibilities have stopped...it is, the five hour weekend.
As a Realtor, I am on call. Pursuing properties for clients, booking apt's for properties to be shown, doing my best to find and sell what is right for those who trust me to do it and then negotiating & seeing to fruition the sale & purchase of those properties I am entrusted to help buy and sell. I sell both residential and commercial real estate, which differ in dynamics significantly (ie. no evenings or weekends as a rule for commercial, potentially crictial zoning issues...) but not critically - they are all of utmost importance & significance...
ANd that is about all I will write at the moment

How To Art Crawl: A Beginners Guide to Every 2nd Friday Enjoyment for the Art & Downtown Lover
One of the only names I will drop - and you will apperciate why - is to steer you to a map & a list.
A good first stop (or near first stop because a gallery storefront might beckon you in while on the way...) for first time Art Crawlers is Mixed Media, located at the corner of James & Cannon.
You can pick up a freshly minted H Magazine that will have a listing of all the galleries & venues on the Crawl - often they will put out a wonderful postcard with all the galleries listed as well.
The Galleries stretch along James North from around Wilson to beyond Barton...I will not name any of the terrific Galleries or venues here for fear of steering your stroll...it should be where the spirit takes you...a wander & a peacefull time, not needing to be or see anything specif...
Suffice to say, there will be lots of folks out and about, a lively and fun atmosphere, some terrific Art & some not so terrific Art (is it not always the way with art?...some will speak to you, call you in, ask you to lose time in a moment...and some won't - if it does not grab you...stroll on)
If I can enjoy a few great shows or one magnificent one then my mission, evening & mind is full filled...and, I have thoroughly enjoyed many an art show at the Crawl...and acquired a good number of awsome works that hang around me now...
Lovely shops will be open to browse and shop in...you can begin your friday evening or end it there...7-11 is about the time for the galleries...wine and beer are served at many & there are also a good number of eateries, lounges & music venues that have been, or have emerged in recent times for you to enjoy - a beverage, a bite, or both & a band...Again, I will not name names...see where you are drawn...
I will steer with this...almost everything to be found, at the moment, is on James Street itself, except for the lovely ArtBar and you will have to deek onto Colbourne Street for that...& there are some spots on the strip that are old school James North & not full of art crawlers, but there are now more crawlers out and about than not...
Enjoy!

Spring Has Sprung
And, it is the Spring Housing Market - when a good number of new homes come up for sale. Alot of fun for those of us who love to love them...like me.
Today I had the priviledge of viewing one of the most amazing properties...cut into the escarpment at the top of John Street South.
Up up up it goes...fabulous modern design, full of windows, looking up, looking out...to the sides no neighbors only the treed mountain side.
Magical with the misting rain, Nature's wet down. The hillside damp & brown, tall trees reaching skyward, towering above and not yet any underbrush...the open forest floor calling out through huge picture windows that fill every wall. (maybe I should have asked if I could just hang out there for the afternoon? lol)
Off the master bedroom retreat, an office, up a few steps toward the front, looking out over the city to the North...looking down John Street and out over the city and the Bay...open modern design up this way and that, through rooms & lovely spaces...
A tree house in the forest, a small basketball court...ancient stone stairs to the front door & off the kitchen ascending to private terraces...yes, one of my favs of all time...$669,000 & 3000 sq. ft. of private mountainside paradise steps from downtown...
Mother Nature's wetdown produced movie magic in my mind...
A real modern architectural gem set into an amazing landscape & full of warm & open spaces...
(the reason I got into Real Estate: to vicariously own all the properties I love through my near and dear clients - and I will surely dream for this as an acquisition)
...if you know anyone who might be looking for just such a place, let me know...lol
